Esomeprazole Acid (NEXIUM) is a prescription medicine designed to treat the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in adults. It is used to treat conditions such as heartburn, peptic ulcers, acid reflux, and erosive esophagitis. Nexium belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors. It works by decreasing the amount of stomach acid produced by the stomach.
NEXIUM is a non-steroidal drug that comes in tablet form. It is available in various strengths, including 20 mg, 40 mg, and 80 mg. It should only be taken if absolutely necessary by the person taking it, as it can cause stomach pain and other side effects. Nexium should only be taken under medical supervision because it can cause serious side effects, such as heartburn.
If you are allergic to esomeprazole, you should stop taking esomeprazole as it may worsen your symptoms.
